Merlot "Nom de Zeus"
When we think of Merlot, most of us have flashbacks to Sideways. Even though that is one of my favorite moves of all time, people have had the hardest time giving Merlot another shot. Switzerland is home to some of the most incredible Merlots in the world, and it is well worth exploring this marvelous red again.
Bouquet: Invigorating aromas of currants, cedar, boysenberries, and dark cherries.
Palate: Wholey well-balanced with notes of vanilla, backed blackberries, and plum tarts.
Pairings: Merlot is a pairing dream with tremendous versatility. The most prominent pairings are turkey, duck confit, pizza, and grilled meats. Experimentation is the key to Swiss Merlots.
