Cornalin is one of Valais’ most storied and expressive red wines—bold in character, ancient in origin, and uniquely Swiss. Nearly lost to time, this Indigenous varietal was revived by passionate winemakers committed to preserving Valais’ viticultural heritage. Maison Gilliard’s Cornalin is a stunning tribute to that legacy, capturing the raw beauty of its alpine roots with elegance and finesse.

Thriving in the Rhône Valley’s steep, sun-drenched vineyards, Cornalin develops deep color, bright energy, and a wild, untamed soul, a wine that speaks fluently of the mountains it comes from.

Bouquet: Aromas of black cherry, dark plum, and wild berries are layered with notes of forest floor, cracked pepper, and dried alpine herbs.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a vibrant structure. Silky tannins and lifted acidity frame flavors of ripe red fruit, subtle spice, and a touch of earthiness. The finish is long, slightly peppery, and beautifully textured.

Pairings: A natural match for venison, duck, charcuterie, or hearty Alpine dishes. Also pairs well with wild mushroom risottos and aged mountain cheeses.
